Messy Desk, Messy Mind
I'm expecting to purchase my first dSLR in early January 2010, and this is to make that purchase worthwhile. I'm a chronic abandoner of projects, and perhaps this website will help me to not leave my camera on a shelf.
Since the purpose is to encourage me to use my camera, don't expect fantastic photos. Also, I'm not proud of the watermarking on the January and February photos. It was cobbled on in a late night fit of (maybe) paranoia after reading about the new orphan works laws the UK is likely to get. Hopefully I'll come up with something better.
My plan is for each image to be taken, selected (only one is allowed to be chosen for each day) and post processed (all images must pass through GIMP at least once).
I'll put the photos up (preferably soon after they're taken) and include a bit of a description (don't expect specific names of people or places).
Following that will be the exposure data (focal length in 35mm equivalent).
Canon A720is - 2009:12:31 23:30:09 - 1 sec - f/5.6 - ISO 100 - ~35mm
There'll be a description of lighting.
White balance set to sunlight. Ambient was warm fluorescent lights. Gelled one Achiever 300Dx with a full CTO (http://www.photogels.com), triggered using Pentax P30t with self-timer.
Finally, there will be technical notes and thoughts on changes I'd like to make next time.
A half CTO may have matched the lighting better. Perhaps setting white balance to tungsten and using the full CTO to give balanced ambient and slightly warmed key would have been better.
